2026 update! Oh my!

Jesus fuck

Have I really not updated the NoBooksBlog THIS YEAR!?  That's AWFUL!!! One of my pet hates is coming across what seem to be forgotten, dead blogs! hahahaha

This is neither, I promise.  Work and life have just been b.u.s.y!

I popped on here to say that the UK Mother's Day rush has now abated, and look forward to the next few weeks.  But maybe I'll round up the last three months, instead :P

In no particular order:
It was a fairly quiet January, which is unusual.  I kicked off January with a personal challenge to hit a minimum of 15000 steps each day.  So it was just wonderful when the snow arrived on the 2nd, and hung about for the next 10 days or so haha I can only fold when sat at my desk, and with outside walking limited by the weather AND driving to the gym the same, I did a ridiculous amount of dancing in the living room, between orders.  Probably just as well I wasn't overly busy!

The end of January, in to February, was back to normal.  Things ramped up for Valentine's Day, as shops stocked their shelves with hearts and Loves, and customers ordered bespoke initials and names, for the big day ♥

The 28th February marked one year since Dad died.  So in true, 'isn't that a bit odd?' fashion, Mum, Stewart and I spent the day in Mum's shop, doing a one day clearout sale (or roup, for north east Scots!), to empty her shop, ready to put on the market, after she FINALLY retired on Christmas Eve. It was a superb day, we thoroughly enjoyed it!

The end of February, in to March, it was alllll about the Mums.  Mum, Mam, Mom, Nan, Granny etc etc, there should be a lot of happy matriarchs come Sunday ♥

Somewhere in these weeks, one of my American stockists alerted me to the Royal Mail now offering DDP on US orders. Royal Mail have previously been no use for carrying my heavy product overseas, but something has changed, and, following a test period of 3 wholesale orders, I am de fucking lighted to say that I am once again servicing my clients in America ♥♥♥

I have a number of new designs in my work book, which I'll be bringing to booky life over the next  weeks and months.  And if you have any ideas that you'd like me to create for you, just drop me a line!!!

OK, blog updated! I will TRY not to leave it so long until the next instalment....!

To become a No Books Stockist, either within the UK or USA (EU is a bit tricky still), drop me an email or pop over to NoBooksTrade.com

  • Thanks for letting me know, Doug.

I write this blog in my own voice, and I was summarising a quarter that included bereavement, retirement, business changes, and the long-awaited return of shipping to the USA. I appreciate that my use of the F-word, which made up around 0.4% of the post, was enough to put you off, and I completely respect your choice to vote with your wallet.

Business isn’t always pretty, and life isn’t always easy, and after 14 wonderful years of NoBooksWereHarmed.co.uk, one thing I know is that my business and I will never be everyone’s cup of tea. And that’s absolutely OK with me.

I hope you got sorted with a similar piece of hand folded, never cut, designer made book art 🙂

  • I was this close to sending you a commission, however the unnecessary F-word put me off. I’m no prude, but this is unprofessional. Sorry, I’m going elsewhere … :(
