Halfway through the year! Wowsers!

I'm not sure how, but we're half way through 2026!

I've been sorely neglecting the NoBooksBlog.  The last few weeks have been plagued with website issues.  The 2026 graduation fold is the perfect example.  First went live in January.  Sold a couple in February.  Never gave them another thought until May, when a regular customer emailed to ask if I could do a 2026 version of the 2018 one they'd bought previously.  I went to send them a link to order...and it had vanished!

Around the same time, another regular sent me screenshots of error messages that she was getting when trying to checkout. This had been happening to her for several days in a row, and I couldn't see any trace of it on my end. No abandoned cart, nothing. I realised that at that point, I hadn't had any orders in 3 days.  Even at my quiet time of year, this is VERY unusual.  So how many other people got the same message, and, understandably, scrolled on by?  So I spend a day and a half looking at settings and code, and could see nothing out of place. I basically toggled everything on and off, and on day 4, half a dozen orders pinged in.  I dunno man, I don't understand technology.

I then realised I'd not looked at my blog for faaaaar too long, and came to update it, only to see a comment from someone who was offended by my use of the F-word in a previous entry.  And entry that was discussing my Dad's death, my Mum's retirement, and the much awaited return to shipping to USA, after a fraught few months of red tape. Swearing isn't big and it isn't clever, but sometimes only the F-word will suffice - I type as I talk, and I talk like a sailor at times.

So yeah. That's only in the last couple of weeks.  I can't even think what happened in the four months in between hahahaha

Things are good at NoBooksHQ. All ticking along nicely.  I enjoyed my quiet (dead) April, and quiet May, and June is pretty much back to normal.  After 14 years, I no longer panic about my quiet 6-8 weeks, I soak them up as the only bit of down time I get in the year.  But I'm always itching to get back to normal by the end of it! hahaha

I'm currently working on a couple of wholesale orders for America, a couple of tops ups for Scottish shops, and about to unveil a brand new Scottish Island based stockist =D

We're almost past graduation season, and most orders seem to have a distinctly coupley/weddingy vibe.  I love love! Lots of books being sent direct to the lucky recipients - I can add a greetings card with a copy of your personal message, at no extra cost. Two birds, one stone, and all that!

Anyhoo. That's a wee update for ya! It's Saturday evening, and I'm aiming to finish folding around 8pm, cos Mr No Books is cooking dinner =D

I shall aim to check in here more often.  Feel free to prod me if I don't!
