Trial & Error : Day 9 March Meet The Maker

This is a great prompt today!  Trial and Error!

I am the designer and maker of every No Books Were Harmed hand folded, never cut, book art sculpture.  Almost every new piece I create takes me three trial runs, before I get my final piece and final notes, which I'm happy to stick with. For my trial runs, I fold books that have damaged spines, damaged pages, loads of photos, or whatever.  I use up the 'no use' books that I inevitably end up with, in my 4500+ strong stash, so that they still get one last use, before ending their journey.

I fold to an accuracy of half a millimetre.  This means that if I make a silly 'big' mistake, cms or inches out, then I can hide that mis-fold, in most cases.  But nog mistakes almost never happen.  Wee mistakes do.  Which mean I'm re-folding within a millimetre of where I need to be, and this just ends of a confused mess.  So, I can't really make mistakes, and that's what takes me so long to create this art ♥

Two DAFT errors that will never leave my mind - I was folding "Dad", but somehow produced "Daa" - and I ONCE, only ONCE, misspelled "Believe"...only about 5 hours of work down the drain that day....eeeeek! hahahaha

I'm taking part in this year's March Meet The Maker. It's primarily an Instagram thing, with the focus being on telling your story via photos.  You might have noticed, I take shite photos, but I can ramble on in type for ages haha So I'm going to mostly take part, right here, on NoBooksBlog.co.uk
