A Fleur De Lis, created by my hand folding the pages of a book.
Accepted as being a stylised lily or iris, this widely recognisable symbol was first used in ancient civilisations, so it's no surprise that the Fleur De Lis / Fleur Di Lys represents many different things to many different people.
It appears on coats of arms, sporting, military and educational institutes & architectural installations. It's been a symbol of religion, heraldry, Scouting, appeared on coins,
It comes and goes in home fashion, forms part of many company logos, and recently became a symbol of remembrance following Hurricane Katrina.
A timeless symbol which will continue to inspire and fascinate for centuries to come.
Ideal gift for those lucky people who have [almost] everything.
No cuts, no glue, no trickery...even my multi-line designs are created from careful hand folding of one book's pages.
Photos shown are of past pieces, most of which have gone to their new forever homes.
Exact colours and final appearances naturally vary from book to book.
