US Tariffs update. Kinda.
Tariffs. Where we at?
Not entirely sure, but here's the best I can tell you as of today...
You’re probably aware of recent changes to US tariff policies. Updates could affect shipping costs or duties on some of your orders. For now, I will be sticking to my usual flat rate shipping, but PLEASE be aware that what YOU pay, upon importing your order in to the US, is the stuff of crystal balls right now.
What’s changing?
Now in effect: The US has updated many tariff rates based on the country of origin.
New reciprocal tariff rates may apply. Please keep in mind that reciprocal rates are applied in addition to rates established by other policies, so they may not be indicative of the total tariff rate percentage.
From August 29, 2025: The US will remove the $800 de minimis exemption. This exemption has long since allowed low-value orders to enter the country duty-free. After this date, all orders may be charged duties, unless they qualify for an exemption, which I don't believe my art does.
Right now, my USA customers, both trade and private, make up a not insignificant portion of my wee business. These changes are concerning. All I can do is ride this out, like I've rode everything else out, since 2014, and trust that it'll all come out in the wash :P
Short story is, PLEASE do your own research, at your end, as perhaps the information you're getting will be clearer than what I'm finding over here. I don't want anyone ordering, be it one book, or a 50 book wholesale order, only to be hit with unexpected charges at your end. I can ONLY control getting your order on its way, out of the UK, and, as mentioned in my shipping page, all and any further charges, surcharges, duties, taxes etc etc, are the sole responsibility of you, the importer. So please do your own research, and don't get your fingers burned...
Thank you for your understanding
